“The pain is there; when you close the door on it, it knocks to come in somewhere else.”

Therapy
My approach to counseling begins with building a safe and genuine relationship with clients. I tailor specific therapeutic interventions and strategies to best serve each client and presenting concern. As a collaborative team, we will work to discover the patterns that lead you to feel stuck, isolated, and stressed. We will work together to better know you, your desires, beliefs about yourself and life, with the intention of moving toward self-acceptance, growth, and acting on what matters to you.

No Surprises Act
“Effective January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act* (NSA) protects uninsured (or self-pay) individuals from many unexpectedly high medical bills. If an individual does not have certain types of health insurance or does not plan to use that insurance to pay for health care items or services, they are eligible to receive a “good faith estimate” of what they may be charged, before they receive the item or service. A patient-provider dispute resolution (PPDR) process is available for uninsured (or self-pay) individuals who get a bill from a provider that is substantially in excess of the expected charges on the good faith estimate.” www.cms.gov/nosurprises
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises ACT, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Your Good Faith Estimate is owed to you in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

What To Expect
Phone Consultation
Contact me for a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your reasons for seeking counseling and if my approach would be a good fit for you. We will discuss next steps and schedule our first session. If, for whatever reason, we decide you would be better served by another counselor I can provide you with referrals.
Intake Forms
Before our first session, there are forms you will need to read over and fill out. I will send you these forms via email, this paperwork will remain secure and confidential.
First Session
In our first session, we will talk about what is bringing you into counseling, what you are hoping to get out of our time together, and any past experiences you have had with counseling. Sessions are 60 minutes with a few minutes at the end to schedule our next session and handle payment.
Ongoing Sessions
Some clients stay in counseling on a long-term basis others for a few weeks or months. What is important is that you feel you are addressing what brought you to counseling or that you are bringing in other concerns you want to work on. To get the most out of counseling, it is important that you actively engage in sessions and integrate what you are learning in your daily life. I welcome your feedback and any concerns you may have about our work together.
